The dream of large metal working companies? A fully automated process for deburring and finishing all types of products. A process that can continue day and night. That is the process that Timesavers has designed with its partner. Timesavers recently sold this innovation to a German company.
How it works:
- Input Cell and Scanning:
A pallet with a stack of unprocessed sheet metal is placed in the input cell. A camera scans the QR code or sticker of the product batch, allowing our Timesavers deburring machine to automatically adjust to the correct parameters.
- Robotic Handling:
The robotic system identifies the product and selects the appropriate gripper. It then transfers products, up to a maximum weight of 10 kilograms, from the pallet to the transport belt.
- Deburring and Finishing:
The product is placed on the front table and moved into the 42 RB series. This machine now has a working width of 1525 mm and a newly developed Top Brush head. The top brushes allow for faster rounding or a more flexible process when dealing with different metals. The machine then carries out deburring, edge rounding, and finishing. It includes advanced technologies such as automatic adjustment of the abrasive belt and brushes, brush measurement and integration with level 2 systems and ERP systems.
- Output Cell and Scanning:
Finished products end up on the table at the back. Here, a camera scans the product again. Enabling the system to recognize it and the robot to select the correct gripper. All processed parts are placed on a pallet in the output cell, with placement identical to how it entered the input cell. Once completed, the system notifies that the pallet can be removed.
The in- and output robots operate within a cell or enclosed with a security fence to ensure operational safety.
